Platinum: the closer look
The range
Seventeen products across nine dry and eight wet. The Menu wet range is the biggest single block at seven adult recipes, with a puppy Menu alongside it. The dry side holds an adult range of three, a puppy food, a chicken adult food and four Vetactive recipes for light, sensitive, hypoallergenic and senior feeding.
Ingredients
Chicken leads across the catalogue, with turkey, beef, fish, pork and duck behind it. Ten recipes are grain free, with the single protein flag on five. Salmon oil is on almost every label, and yucca goes on several of the dry foods.
Nutrition
The wet food runs about 14.2% to 16.5% protein as fed with 157 to 178 kcal per 100g. The dry is denser: the adult range is 23% to 24% protein and the puppy food is 27%. Nutritional balance is Outstanding on eight products, and protein and processing Excellent on eight.
Strengths
- Outstanding transparency on every recipe
- Menu wet range reads Outstanding
- Wet and dry in one catalogue
Limitations
- No cold-pressed food, and nothing raw or fresh
- Vetactive dry recipes read a band lower
- Puppy and senior choice is small
Where it is less of a fit
- If raw or fresh is the plan, check the formats here, as this range is dry and wet
- If the dry should match the wet, check the bands on the Vetactive recipes, which sit at Good
- If you want a wide puppy or senior choice, check the life stages, since most of the catalogue is adult
Score overview
Transparency carries the brand, Outstanding on all seventeen recipes, and value reads Outstanding on seven. The Menu wet range is where the Outstanding bands sit. The Vetactive dry recipes mostly read Good, and protein and processing drops to Average on two products, which is what keeps the average at Excellent.
The average score is the mean of each product's overall score out of 100 (using the best-scoring variety per product), not a flat average across every variety.
