Who we are

The short version

• There are no accounts, no logins and no saved user profiles on this site.
• We do not sell personal data, and we never receive your identity from a retailer or an affiliate network.
• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, and usage analytics are cookieless: nothing is stored on your device to count you.
• Food Finder answers and calculator inputs stay in your browser. They are not sent to us and not stored anywhere.

• A single session flag.The welcome screen writes one value to your browser’s session storage so it does not reappear on every page. It contains no identifier, and it is cleared when you close the tab.
• Affiliate cookies. Set by an affiliate network when you click a retailer link, as described in the next section.

We set no cookies of our own, which is why there is no cookie banner. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and doing so does not stop you using the site.

Things you might expect us to collect, but we do not

• No accounts or profiles. There is nothing to register for, so there are no usernames, passwords or saved dog profiles.
• No Food Finder or calculator records. What you tell the Food Finder, the calorie calculator, the cost calculator or the exercise calculator is held in your browser only while you use it. It is never transmitted to us and never written to a database.
• No search history. Site search runs against the catalogue without storing what you typed.
• No mailing list. We do not run one, and there is nowhere on the site to hand us your email address other than by writing to us. If we start a mailing list, this policy will be updated before it goes live.

When you email us

If you write to woof@off-the-leash.co.uk we hold your email address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as we need it to deal with the enquiry and keep a record of it.

Why we are allowed to do this

Under UK GDPR we need a lawful basis for each use of personal data. Ours are:

• Legitimate interests for keeping the site running, secure and free from abuse (server logs), for replying to messages you send us, and for measuring how the site performs in aggregate.

Who else is involved

We keep the list of third parties short, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

• Vercel hosts the site, processes the server logs described above and provides the cookieless usage analytics.
• Supabase hosts the database behind our product catalogue and reviews. It holds editorial and product data, not personal data about visitors.
• Affiliate networks (Awin, Webgains, Amazon Associates, Adtraction, Rakuten Advertising) handle click tracking and commission reporting once you leave the site through a retailer link.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep things

• Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited operational period and are not archived by us.
• Analytics data is held by Vercel as aggregate counts only. There is no record in it that identifies an individual visitor.
• Emails you send us are kept for as long as the enquiry needs, and then deleted in the ordinary course.

Keeping it secure

The site is served over HTTPS and we hold no visitor database to protect. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not email us anything sensitive that you would not want read in transit.

Your rights

UK GDPR gives you the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form where that applies, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of them, email woof@off-the-leash.co.uk. We will respond within one month, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so that nobody else can obtain your data by asking for it. In practice, because we hold so little, the honest answer to most requests is that there is nothing on file beyond the technical logs described above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Children

This site is written for dog owners buying food and equipment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

When what we do changes, we update this page and change the date at the top. This version was last updated on 28 August 2026.
