Platinum Adult Dry: Iberico review
Platinum writes one idea three ways: 70% of a single fresh meat, then a starch, then a long cold pressed tail of fruit, herbs and mussel. The Iberico just reaches our Excellent band, with the beef close behind in Good and the lamb a step further back. The real choice is which meat your dog gets on with.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs that do better away from chicken. Each recipe is built around a red or less common meat
- Owners who rotate proteins, as the three share a build and mainly swap the animal
- Homes keeping cereal out of the bowl, which the beef and the Iberico both do
- Older dogs, with green-lipped mussel extract in all three
- Very small dogs: the same recipes come in a mini kibble
Worth watching
- Fish in every bag, named only as fish, so a dog kept off one particular fish is not covered
- Broken rice under the lamb, the one cereal in the range
- Protein in the mid twenties as fed, since all the meat goes in fresh

The score, in context
- Iberico 70.2
- Beef 69.9
- Lamb 66.4
Three recipes across Excellent and Good. Typical dry food: Good.
The beef and the Iberico edge ahead of the lamb, and fresh meat losing its weight in the oven is what holds the balance scores back.

Named ingredients
Against the range
- Meat
- Iberian pork, 70%
- Beef and lamb at the same share.
- Starch
- Potatoes only
- Pulses join the potato in the beef; rice in the lamb.
- Fat
- 14%
- The middle of the three.
Useful once a dog has worked through the everyday meats.
Each recipe opens with 70% of one fresh meat and nothing dried behind it, so the finished kibble declares 23% to 24% protein as fed. Every list carries an entry written only as fish, followed by salmon oil, then the same cold pressed tail of brewer's yeast, apple pulp, yucca, green-lipped mussel extract, herbs and seaweed.
The starch is what changes: potatoes, peas and lentils in the beef, potatoes alone in the Iberico, broken rice in the lamb. The added minerals are identical across all three and dosed openly.
