Natural Instinct Natural Range – Natural Lamb

Natural Instinct

Natural Instinct Natural Range: Natural Lamb review

84.5/100Outstanding
RawAdult

Frozen raw kept deliberately plain: a named animal, then a short tail of fruit, vegetables, kelp and salmon oil. The vegetables stay recognisable instead of vanishing into a premix. All six hold our Outstanding band, so the choice is about which animal your dog does best on.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • First-time raw feeders. Every list here takes a glance to read
  • Dogs that get on better without cereals
  • Rotation feeding from tripe to poultry to red meat to fish, all inside one range
  • A dog kept to one land animal: the tripe, chicken and lamb recipes each name a single species
  • Any size of dog, toy breeds through to giants

Worth watching

  • Salmon oil runs through five recipes and the sixth is all fish, so nothing here is fish free
  • Frozen packs need freezer room, a fridge defrost and clean surfaces afterwards
  • Calcium ranges from 0.78% to 3.34% of dry matter, which matters for a dog already on a mineral supplement

The Beef Tripe is lightest at 132.

The obvious pick when poultry is off the menu.

Five of the six are built the same way: a named animal or pair takes 75% or 80% of the recipe, then apple, butternut squash, carrot, kelp, salmon oil and spinach finish it. None of those five prints a vitamin and mineral premix, so the micronutrition comes from whole ingredients and organ meat.

No label carries a starch source, and estimated carbohydrate sits at or near zero. Calcium is what moves: from 0.78% of dry matter in the Beef Tripe to 3.34% in the two chicken-led recipes. The Natural Fish is the exception on every count, with three fish and the longest supporting list.
