Naked Dog Naked Pup: Surf & Turf review
Flavour
Naked Dog's growth range: the same 500g tubs and whole food thinking, pointed at a puppy. Three of the four carry a working organ share, and the Rabbit stays deliberately short for a pup that needs an unfamiliar protein. The one figure a puppy owner most wants, calcium, is on none of the labels.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Puppies kept to one land animal: the Beef, the Chicken and the Rabbit each name only one
- Growing dogs that need organ meat, with tripe, heart, liver and kidney across three recipes
- A pup with a bad history on chicken and beef. Rabbit is an animal most have never met
- Owners who want bone declared by name, on every label
- Small pups and large ones, on a chart that runs from 5kg to 50kg
Worth watching
- No calcium figure on any tub, which matters most for a large-breed puppy
- Salmon oil on three labels and white fish leading the fourth, so nothing here is fish free
- Freezer space fills fast, and every meal means fridge thawing and clean bowls, boards and hands

The most protein in the range, and our scoring's pick of the four.
Every tub leads with a named animal, bone written in by name, and a small plant side of butternut squash, green vegetables and blueberry, closed by kelp and inulin from chicory root. No vitamin premix is added on any of them. Salmon oil or hemp seed oil supplies the omega 3s.
What varies is the organ share and the animals. The Beef, Chicken and Surf & Turf carry tripe, heart, liver or kidney; the Rabbit has none. Protein converts to between 35.9% and 61.7% of dry matter, and no label prints a calcium figure.
