Rosie's Farm Single Meat Dry – Adult Lamb with Rice

Rosie's Farm

Rosie's Farm Single Meat Dry: Adult Lamb with Rice review

54.1/100Good
DryAdult

One named animal per recipe, with the dried and fresh shares printed separately, which few labels on this part of the shelf bother to do. Rice and peas share the starch work in near equal measure. Adult, light and senior run on one construction, and all five sit in our Good band.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • Owners after the meat split in black and white
  • Dogs that suit rice; brown and white rice carry the starch with green peas
  • A dog that needs to lose a little, on the Light turkey with its much lower fat
  • Older dogs. The Senior adds glucosamine, chondroitin and methylsulphonylmethane to the same base
  • One dog fed across the years on a shared construction and kibble

Worth watching

  • Chicken fat in the salmon recipe, the one variety with a second animal
  • Carbohydrate at 46.8% to 50.1% of dry matter, with protein gentle at 25.5% to 30.4%
  • Herbs listed as a group on most labels

Against the range
Meat
29% lamb
The only red meat; the others are turkey or salmon.
Protein, as fed
23.5%
The gentlest; up to 28% on the Light.
Fat
Lamb fat at 7%
Chicken fat on the salmon, none on the Light.

The red meat choice, consistent from the meat to the fat.

Every recipe opens with one named animal and splits it into dried and fresh, the dried share much the larger. Brown rice, white rice and green peas follow at matching percentages, then beet pulp, linseed, dried chicory and a tail of dried fruit and vegetables.

What varies is the fat: lamb, turkey and senior use the recipe's own animal, the salmon uses chicken fat, and the light adds none. Minerals go in as sulphates, and no label declares moisture or calcium.
