Aatu
Aatu For Dogs Dry: Free Run Turkey review
A meat-dense, grain-free kibble that builds one recipe well and then swaps the animal. Each bag declares 80% of a single named species, and a joint supplement trio is dosed in print on every label. All four sit in our Excellent band with very little between them.

Our view
Likely to suit
- Most of the bowl from one named animal, declared at 80%
- Dogs that do better without grain. Sweet potato, peas and chickpeas carry the starch
- Rotation feeding: one construction, four species
- Older or stiff-jointed dogs, with glucosamine and MSM at 178 mg/kg and chondroitin at 125 mg/kg
- A dog that has gone off the common birds, as there is a duck and a salmon
Worth watching
- Salmon oil is in every variety, birds included, so none is fish free
- Energy-dense recipes made with active dogs in mind. Watch portions on a sofa dog

The strongest of the four on our scoring, if only just.
Every recipe declares 80% of one named species, fresh and dried, on a base of sweet potato, tapioca, peas and chickpeas. There is no grain and no white potato. Salmon oil is the omega source on all four, so the birds carry fish too. The joint trio is printed with its dose on every label, and the trace minerals come as chelates.
Everything after the minerals, from lucerne to cinnamon, sits at trace level. Carbohydrate converts to between 29.4% and 35.1% of dry matter. What changes is the animal and a little of the panel: the Duck, Turkey and Salmon add a Bacillus subtilis gut culture that the Chicken leaves out.
