Tribal
Tribal Fresh Pressed Puppy: Fresh Turkey review
Flavour
Tribal's low-temperature pellet tuned for growth, with the turkey in our Excellent band and the chicken a step behind in Good. Both print calcium and the growth vitamins, which a puppy food should and many do not. The joint supplements found elsewhere in the Tribal range are left out of these two.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Puppies still learning to chew: the pellet softens with warm water and does not swell
- Any finished size, as the feeding guide runs from a 1kg baby to a 50kg giant in waiting
- A litter or new arrival moving onto solids, with a small bag for testing the water
- Pups kept off cereals. Sweet potato carries the starch
- Owners who want the growth nutrients written down per kilo
Worth watching
- Fish in both, so neither is fish free
- Whole egg on both lists, for a puppy already reacting to eggs
- Carbohydrate at just over half of dry matter. Measure meals for a pup that gains condition quickly

The score, in context
- Fresh Turkey 72.7

Two recipes across Excellent and Good. Typical dry food: Good.
The turkey reads stronger than the chicken by enough to notice, and in both the starch share, above the format's middle, is what holds the score back.

Calcium is declared on both and sits at sensible growth levels, with vitamin D3 at 1750 IU/kg and every trace mineral dosed. Brewer's yeast, inulin and a herbal blend at 0.25% are shared. The meat, the fish, and the added fat are what change.
