Run
Run Premium Cold Pressed: Chicken & Sweet Potato review
Three cold pressed recipes, pressed at low temperature and never extruded, so the pellet crumbles in liquid and does not swell. One is chicken, one sea fish and one a puppy blend of both. The puppy and chicken recipes sit in our Excellent band, the sea fish one step down in Good.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Fast eaters, since the pellets break up in liquid without swelling
- Joint watchers: glucosamine and chondroitin each carry a stated dose
- Cereal-free feeding, with sweet potato, tapioca and pea supplying the carbohydrate
- A dog kept off poultry and red meat. The sea fish label has fish only
- A puppy and an adult fed from the same shelf
Worth watching
- Plant ingredients take a large share of every pellet, the trade a pressed food makes to hold its shape
- Sea fish is as far as the label goes, with no species named
- Glucosamine is usually made from shellfish, if shellfish is what you keep out

The range meets the cold pressed norm and mostly clears it; the plant share of each pellet is what stops it climbing further.

No fish anywhere on the label, so a dog kept away from it is safe with this one.
Every label prints its meat share and then itemises it, down to what the fat, the peptides and the liver each contribute. Sweet potato, tapioca and pea carry the plant side, which is where the bulk of each pellet lives; carbohydrate converts to between 42.4% and 44.7% of dry matter.
Glucosamine at 400 mg/kg and chondroitin at 300 mg/kg are printed on all three, with a prebiotic tail and a rosemary and vitamin E preserving system. Vitamins and minerals are listed line by line with doses. What varies is the animal: chicken, sea fish, or both for the puppy.
