Purizon
Purizon Adult Pouches: Black Angus & Turkey review
Four pouches in our Excellent band, built on chicken fillet with organ meat and a second or third animal underneath. Protein converts to between 58.3% and 60.9% of dry matter. One catch: the Salmon pouch's printed list is a copy of another recipe's.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs that want the meat up front
- Owners who add labels up, with a percentage on every entry
- Homes avoiding grain. The only starch is a 3% spoonful
- Older dogs still eating well, as seniors are listed too
- Dogs that could drink more, with about three quarters of each pouch moisture
- Rotating flavours on one recipe shape
Worth watching
- Chicken in every pouch, whatever the name on the front
- Salmon oil on all four labels
- The Salmon pouch's printed list is the Black Angus and Turkey list repeated
- One pouch size, so a small dog leaves part of one for the fridge

Among the richer pouches, with two extra animals behind the chicken.
Every pouch opens with chicken fillet at 45% and broth at 28.8%, then 10% organ meat and fat, two further 5% animal entries, a 3% starch and a 2% fruit. Minerals at 1% and salmon oil at 0.2% close each list, and every entry carries a percentage.
Plant matter is a garnish, so estimated carbohydrate runs from 5.9% to 8.3% of dry matter. The organ meats and second animals change from pouch to pouch. The added panel is printed on only two of the four labels.
