ProDog Smart Chubs: Chicken & Lamb review

Name: ProDog Smart Chubs: Chicken & Lamb
Brand: Prodog

85.3/100Outstanding

RawAdult

Flavour

Raw feeding stripped back to the animal: minced meat, ground bone and offal from named sources, in 450g chubs. All five flavours sit in our Outstanding band. What moves between them is the pairing of animals and how rich the bowl gets.

Our view

Likely to suit

Raw feeders who want the bowl animal from top to bottom
Dogs that need grain and starch off the menu; no label holds a cereal or a vegetable
Matching the bowl to the workload, from lean poultry to properly hearty red meat
Adults of every build, toy to giant

Worth watching

Raw hygiene applies: thaw in the fridge, wipe bowls and surfaces, wash hands after every meal
At least two animals in every flavour, so none suits a single-protein plan
Richness moves a long way between flavours, so rethink portions on a swap

Against the range

Protein, dry matter: 67.4%; Highest of the five; the Beef & Lamb is 39.9%.
Fat, dry matter: 31.9%; Toward the lean end.

The most protein-dense chub here, on two familiar meats.

Every chub is minced meat and ground bone first, offal where the flavour carries it, and 0.5% of ProDog's own Boost supplement last. Nothing else: no vegetables, no cereal, a percentage beside every entry. Ground bone does the calcium work, and liver and kidney turn up in most flavours.

No chub keeps to one animal. Protein converts to between 39.9% and 67.4% of dry matter and fat to between 27.3% and 42.5%, while carbohydrate never passes 6.7%. Boost's own vitamin and mineral declarations are not printed.
