Morrisons
Morrisons Premium Natural Dry Adult: Lamb review
A grain-free supermarket kibble in chicken and lamb, both in our Good band. The meat is named and the dried and fresh shares are given separately, which is more than many labels manage. Sweet potato does the starch work, and the tail is short enough to read in one go.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs kept off grain, with no cereal on either list
- Owners who want the meat split shown: 22% chicken meal and 8% freshly prepared in the chicken
- A single-animal diet, since every animal entry in the chicken recipe is chicken
- Owners who read labels properly. Both lists are short and every line is easy to look up
Worth watching
- Chicken fat and gravy in the lamb recipe
- A moderate 30% meat, so a fair amount of the bowl is plant
- Potato protein in the lamb, behind the meat

The score, in context
- Chicken 61.3
- Lamb 59.3
All two Good. Typical dry food: Good.
Little separates the two, and plain honesty in the label earns most of the result.
What's in it
- Lamb: lamb meal, freshly prepared lamb30% (18% and 12%)Weighted towards fresh, so the oven takes more of the headline off as water.
- Sweet potato30%The grain-free base.
- Potato, dried peas
- Chicken fatChicken, in a lamb recipe.
- Potato proteinA plant protein behind the meat, which the chicken recipe does without.
- Beet pulp
- Whole linseed2%Plant omega 3. Give a coat weeks to answer, not days.
- Chicken gravy, mineralsMore chicken.
- Yeast products0.2%A source of prebiotic MOS.
- Dried blueberry, dried cranberry, marigold meal, turmeric, dried spearmintA flourish; the recipe stands without them.
A full, dosed panel: vitamins A, D3 and E with iodine, selenium, copper, iron, manganese and zinc, preserved with natural tocopherols.
Chicken fat and chicken gravy are on the list, so this is not a poultry-free option for a dog reacting to chicken.

A change of main meat for a dog that likes lamb, and no way round chicken.
Both recipes declare 30% of their named meat and split it into meal and freshly prepared shares. Sweet potato at 30% and potato carry the starch with no cereal, dried peas and beet pulp finish the plant side, and both use chicken fat and chicken gravy. Whole linseed at 2% supplies omega 3.
Neither label declares moisture, so the dry matter figures assume 8%. Estimated carbohydrate is 48.9% of dry matter on the chicken and 46.7% on the lamb, close to the 46.2% typical of adult dry food.
