Embark on Raw
Embark on Raw Guru: Turkey Dinner review
Guru is the range where one animal fills the whole pouch: meat, bone, offal and liver all from the same species. For a dog kept to one animal, that is about as clean a run as frozen raw offers. Every pouch scores Outstanding, and every label prints its moisture, which is rarer in frozen raw than it should be.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Strict elimination diets, with no borrowing between species
- Owners who want the offal share spelled out, liver included
- Rotation feeders looking for red meat, with lamb and beef beside the poultry
- Single-dog homes, as the pouch size makes portions easy to plan
- Puppies, adults and seniors of every build
Worth watching
- No calcium percentage printed, though bone is a tenth of every recipe
- No mint on the Lamb and Mint ingredients list
- Raw handling: freezer, thaw in the fridge, clean bowl, hands and surfaces
