Ziwi Peak Tins – Mackerel & Lamb

Ziwi Peak

Ziwi Peak Tins: Mackerel & Lamb review

79.1/100Excellent
WetAdult

Ziwi Peak's whole-prey thinking in a tin, with the chicken in our Outstanding band and the other three just behind in Excellent. Around two thirds of each recipe is a named animal with its organs listed out. Chickpeas are the only starch, so this is a low-starch bowl by wet food standards.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • Dogs raised on offal: lung, kidney, tripe, liver and heart all named
  • A list you can read at a glance, six entries on most tins
  • An unusual protein, with venison and mackerel beside the beef and chicken
  • Grain-free homes. Chickpeas carry the only starch
  • Older dogs beginning to stiffen, with green mussel at 3% in every tin

Worth watching

  • Mussel and kelp in every tin, so none is a one-animal food
  • More bone in the Chicken, with ash at 18.2% of dry matter
  • No calcium figure on any tin
