Wolf Tucker Complete Raw Meals – Duck Meal

Wolf Tucker

Wolf Tucker Complete Raw Meals: Duck Meal review

88.4/100Outstanding
RawPuppyAdult

Frozen 500g tubs built on one honest idea: a named animal with its bone and liver, its total share printed, and nothing vague on any of the eight lists. You can read a label in the time it takes to prise the lid off. All eight sit in our Outstanding band.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • Raw feeders who want bone and offal doing the mineral work
  • Rotation across beef, chicken, duck and turkey, all on one construction
  • Households with a puppy among the adults; most of the range is labelled from puppy up
  • Dogs kept clear of starch. No entry on any label is a cereal or a pulse
  • Owners short on freezer space, as the tubs stack tidily

Worth watching

  • Salmon oil on every label, single-meat tubs included
  • Beef inside two of the chicken-named recipes, so read each list for an exclusion plan
  • A night's thaw in the fridge, and hands and bowls to wash after serving

The details

Most tubs are labelled from puppy upwards, with the Beef Meal, the Sprats and Tripe and the Turkey for adults. No calcium figure is printed, so ask Wolf Tucker before raising a large-breed puppy on it.

The score, in context
  1. Chicken Meal 88.8
  2. Duck Meal 88.4
  3. Chicken 87.8
  4. Chicken 87.3
  5. Sprats 87.1
  6. Beef Meal 87.0
  7. Turkey Meal 86.5
  8. Beef 83.1

All eight Outstanding. Typical raw food: Outstanding.

All eight keep pace with the strongest raw food we cover, and the Chicken Meal's small lead is a fine margin on the analysis, not a different food.

The tub for a dog steering around the everyday meats.

Every tub follows one build: a named animal with its bone and liver, the total for that animal printed as a percentage, then carrot, named greens and apple, closing on salmon oil and kelp. Three tubs add sunflower seed granulate and three bring beef tripe. There is no cereal, no pulse and no added vitamin or mineral premix.

Bone and kelp do the mineral work, liver and salmon oil the vitamin work. Carbohydrate is zero on six of the eight. No label prints a calcium figure.
