Wainwright's
Wainwright's Mature Dry Food: Salmon & Rice review
One senior recipe built three times, with only the animal swapped. Each declares its meat split, 28% dried against 5% fresh, which is the honest way to show what reaches the bowl. Taurine, glucosamine and chondroitin are all printed with a dose.

Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs settling into later years: taurine at 1000 mg on every label
- Rotating flavours, as lamb, salmon and turkey share one plan
- Stiffening joints, with glucosamine at 0.05% and chondroitin at 0.015% in print
- An adult and a senior under one roof, since every bag covers both
- Dogs long used to cereal, rice and whole grain barley carrying the starch
Worth watching
- Rice and barley in all three, for a dog kept off grain
- Carbohydrate near half of dry matter in every version, above the typical adult dry food
- Glucosamine and chondroitin come from animal material, so a single-animal plan is not quite covered

The landing spot for an older dog that has grown itchy on the usual meats.
Every bag puts 33% into one animal, printed as 28% dried and 5% freshly prepared, so the dried portion is what really reaches the bowl. Rice at 26%, whole grain barley and whole ground oats at 4.5% make up the plant base, with beet pulp from 6% to 7% for fibre. Dried peas and carrots are declared with their fresh equivalents.
The same vitamin and mineral panel runs through all three, with taurine at 1000 mg and the trace minerals as sulphates and oxides. Only the animal, the barley and the beet pulp shift between them.
