Wainwright's
Wainwright's Grain Free Adult Dry Food: Turkey with Vegetables review
Wainwright's grain-free kibble in lamb or turkey, and both settle in our Good band. The meat is written out in four separate shares, meal, fresh, fat and digest, so you can see how the headline was built. Sweet potato and potato flake stand in for cereal.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Cereal-free households, with no grain on either list
- Owners who like the meat broken down, every share with its percentage
- A dog kept to one animal, on the turkey, which names nothing else
- Digestion, with beet pulp and a little chicory root extract
- Two dogs on different meats. Both recipes follow one pattern and swap easily
Worth watching
- Poultry oil in the lamb, so it cannot rule out birds
- A heavy starch load, most of all on the turkey
- Potato protein on both lists, no substitute for the meat above it

The cleaner choice for a dog on a strict one-species plan.
Each recipe splits its meat into four quantified entries: meal, freshly prepared meat, fat and digest, about a third of the bag in all. The meal does the protein work. Sweet potato and potato flake carry the starch with whole peas at 5% and potato protein, and no cereal appears on either list.
Whole linseed at 2% is the only omega 3, with no fish anywhere. The vegetables, herbs and the sulphate and oxide mineral panel are shared. What varies is the animal, the sweet potato share, and poultry oil, which only the lamb carries.
