Seven Adult Tins – Beef & Venison

Seven Pet

Seven Pet Seven Adult Tins: Beef & Venison review

74.5/100Excellent
WetAdult

Five 400g tins, each led by one animal, with four in our Excellent band and the beef a step behind in Good. Wild boar and beef with venison sit beside chicken and lamb, so a dog that has run out of ordinary meats has somewhere to go. The vitamin panel is the thin part.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • Dogs that do best on one animal. The chicken, lamb and wild boar tins each keep to a single named meat
  • A meat percentage printed up front
  • Dogs that have tried every ordinary meat, with wild boar and venison still left
  • Older joints: the lamb tin prints glucosamine at 0.09% and chondroitin sulphate at 0.03%
  • Rotation feeding on one construction
  • Dogs that need feeding up, on the energy-dense beef tin

Worth watching

  • The beef tin puts its 65% beef inside a meat and meat by-products heading, so the rest of the animal fraction has no species
  • No vitamin A or vitamin E line on any tin
  • Herbs listed as one unnamed group on the chicken tin
  • One size only, so a small dog leaves an opened tin to cover and chill

Five recipes across Excellent and Good. Typical wet food: Excellent.

Holding four tins level with a strong wet category is a real result, and the beef tin's labelling style is what keeps it a step behind.

A rich, straightforward tin with nothing to unpick.

Every tin opens on one headline animal, printed at between 50% and 66%, with a light scatter of vegetables, fruit and botanicals behind it. Dry-matter protein runs from 39.2% to 46.4%. All five are 400g tins of the same construction, so swapping the animal changes little else.

The added panel is short everywhere: vitamin D3 at 200 IU with zinc at 25mg and manganese at 1.4mg, and no vitamin A or E line on any label. Only the wild boar tin prints its calories; the rest are our estimate, from 92.2 to 126.6 kcal per 100g.
