Scrumbles Complete Sensitive Wet Dog Food: Duck review

Name: Scrumbles Complete Sensitive Wet Dog Food: Duck
Brand: Scrumbles

77.7/100Excellent

Flavour

About as short as an ingredients list gets, and the chicken and duck sit in our Excellent band with the turkey in Outstanding. One named animal at 65%, a vegetable, minerals and slippery elm. A chicken tray really is chicken, which makes the range genuinely useful on an exclusion diet.

Our view

Likely to suit

Dogs on an exclusion diet: one animal per recipe, no fish oil
Unsettled digestion, with slippery elm in every recipe
Owners who like a big, obvious meat share
Mixed-age households. One recipe covers puppy through to senior
Dogs that need feeding up, on the duck or turkey

Worth watching

Fat at 46.0% of dry matter on the duck; a dog watching its waistline does better on the chicken
No fish oil anywhere, so the omega 3 is whatever the meat brings
No vitamin A on the added panel

The one for a dog that needs building up.

Every recipe is 65% of one named animal with no second meat behind it: no meat and animal derivatives, no unnamed oils, no hydrolysates, no fish oil. Carrots at 4% follow, then minerals and slippery elm at 0.1%. Carbohydrate is estimated at 8.4% of dry matter or less.

What varies is the small stuff: green beans on the chicken, dried apple on the duck, dried cranberries and sunflower oil on the turkey. Calcium runs from 0.96% to 1.62% of dry matter across the three.
