Ruff's Recipes Adult Wet: Hearty Hog Roast review
Three wet recipes in our Excellent band, each naming its meat and printing a figure beside it. Hearty Hog Roast is all pork; the other two pair a bird with a second animal. Vegetables, a named grain and a scattering of herbs fill in behind.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Owners who want the animal named and counted
- Dogs kept to a single animal. Hearty Hog Roast carries pork and no other meat
- Rotation feeders, with three meat pairings to move between
- Dogs that do better with meat leading, at 34.6% to 50.0% protein in dry matter
- Dogs whose digestion likes a helping hand: chicory root for prebiotic FOS in every tin
Worth watching
- As much chicken as turkey in Tasty Turkey Hash, at 30.5% each
- Barley, quinoa or spelt in every recipe
- Calcium at 3.08% of dry matter in the hash against 1.2% in Hearty Hog Roast, for a mineral-watched dog

The one to reach for when your dog is kept to a single meat.
Freshly prepared meat opens every list with its own percentage: about 60% of each tin is animal, from one or two named species. Peas, green beans or courgette take the vegetable slot, and barley, quinoa or spelt carry the grain, so nothing in the range is grain free.
Every recipe ends the same way: flaxseed or linseed, chicory root for prebiotic FOS, dried blueberry and a 0.2% herb and botanical blend at trace level. The added panels differ: the two 390g recipes share one, while Turkey Dinner names three minerals and no vitamins.
