Raw Pet Foods Complete – Duck

Raw Pet Foods Complete: Duck review

83.7/100Outstanding
RawAdult

Seven frozen raw minces built the same short way, and all seven reach our Outstanding band. A named meat leads, ox organ follows, and a small plant share closes each one. The catch is that the name on the front does not always settle which animals are inside.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • Owners who rotate: beef, chicken, duck, lamb and turkey across the line
  • A dog kept to one animal. Beef & Tripe stays bovine and Lamb & Tripe stays ovine
  • Dogs that must have no starch, since no label carries a cereal, potato or pulse
  • A small dog and a large one fed from the same freezer, the guide running from toy to giant
  • Fussy eaters, who tend to find unwashed tripe hard to refuse

Worth watching

  • Chicken in the Beef mince and ox organ in the poultry ones
  • No calcium figure printed on any label, a question for the maker if it matters to your dog
  • Freezer room and kitchen hygiene: defrost overnight in the fridge, then wash bowls and surfaces properly

Interesting for a dog meeting a new protein, once the offal question is answered.

Every mince follows one pattern: a named meat well out in front, then ox heart, liver and kidney, then carrots, butternut and green leaf, with kelp and flaxseed oil at 1% to finish. No cereal, potato or pulse appears anywhere, and organ meat does the work of a vitamin premix.

Only the Beef itemises bone, at 10%, and no label prints a calcium figure. Protein converts to between 37.3% and 45.8% of dry matter and fat to between 39.8% and 45.8%. Tripe turns up in three recipes.
