Natures Menu Country Hunter Cans: Pheasant & Goose with Superfoods review
Flavour
Seven wet cans in our Excellent band, built for feeding beyond the farmyard: rabbit, wild boar, venison and a pheasant and goose pairing beside beef, turkey and chicken with salmon. The build barely changes from can to can. Named meat with its organs itemised leads every label, and no grain appears anywhere.

Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs kept to one protein, with five flavours naming a single animal
- A novel protein: rabbit, wild boar and venison are all on the menu
- Grain-avoiding homes, as no label in the range carries cereal
- Bigger dogs and multi-dog homes, where a 600g can earns its size
- Rotation feeders. The recipes share one build and swap the animal
Worth watching
- Two animals each in the chicken with salmon and the pheasant and goose
- Energy from 87 kcal per 100g to 131, so recheck portions whenever you swap flavours
- A 600g can lasts a small dog a few days and needs covering in the fridge

Named ingredients

- Animals on the label
- Goose and pheasant
- Single species on five others.
- Carbohydrate, dry matter
- 17.1%
- Near the top; only the turkey is higher.
The most adventurous pairing on the shelf.
Every can leads with named meat at a printed percentage, and the organs are itemised at 4% apiece where they appear: heart, liver, lung, stomach or neck depending on the flavour. Five of the seven keep to a single animal; the chicken with salmon and the pheasant and goose say their pairing in the name.
No grain, potato or rice anywhere. Berries, fruit, vegetables and seeds sit mostly between 1% and 4%, and green tea extract closes every label, joined in some by rosemary or yucca. Protein converts to between 42.9% and 52.2% of dry matter across the range.
