Natures Menu Complete & Balanced Puppy 80/20: Beef review
Natures Menu points its 80/20 rule at growth: 80% named meat or fish in every recipe, complete and balanced for a puppy. All three reach our Outstanding band. The Chicken with Salmon is the odd one out, with brown rice where the others use sweet potato and greens.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Puppies moving onto raw, with no balancing of your own to do
- Raising a puppy without grain, on the Beef or the Turkey and Fish
- Marine oils early on. The Turkey and Fish pairs salmon with white fish
- A big puppy, with a chart that runs up to a 40kg dog
- A puppy kept to one animal, on the all-beef recipe
Worth watching
- No calcium figure on any of the three, so ask the maker if you are raising a large breed
- Brown rice in the Chicken with Salmon, and fish in two of the three
- Large puppy portions in 1kg frozen packs, so freezer space matters

For a puppy being kept to one animal, this is the recipe.
Every recipe is 80% named meat or fish. The Beef and the Turkey and Fish follow the adult 80/20 plan, with sweet potato at 10%, peas and spinach at 2% each and pea fibre. The Chicken with Salmon swaps all of that for brown rice at 18%.
Minerals are added and printed per kilo on all three, with selenium from an inactivated selenised yeast, but none prints a calcium figure. Protein converts to between 37.5% and 41.9% of dry matter and fat to between 32.3% and 34.4%.
