My Pet Says
My Pet Says Grain Free Large Breed: Salmon with Trout, Sweet Potato & Asparagus review
A grain-free kibble for big adult dogs, with half of each recipe declared as named animal and the fresh and dried split printed. The joint package and the gut extras are the same in both, so choosing really means choosing an animal. Both sit in our Good band, the turkey just ahead of the fish.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Large dogs whose joints need daily help: glucosamine and MSM at 170 mg/kg, chondroitin at 125 mg/kg
- Owners who want the meat share split into fresh and dried
- A big dog kept off grain
- Alternating a bird and a fish on the same build
- Temperamental guts, with beet pulp and dosed FOS and MOS
Worth watching
- All-fish animal entries in the salmon with trout, so the turkey is the one for a fish-avoiding dog
- Pea and potato protein in the turkey
- No named source for the omega 3 supplement

- Pea and potato protein on the Turkey
The one for a big dog that suits fish better than poultry.
Both labels declare 50% named animal and print the fresh and dried split behind it. Sweet potato at 24% leads the starch, with peas and potato behind and no grain anywhere. Beet pulp brings the fibre, linseed and an unnamed omega 3 supplement the fats.
The joint package is the same in both and fully dosed, and so are the FOS and MOS. What changes is the animal, and the turkey adds pea and potato protein that the fish recipe manages without.
