Flavour

Own-label trays that read nothing like own-label, and all three reach our Excellent band. Every ingredient carries a percentage and the meat is named at 60% in each. There is no cereal, no unnamed fat and no category term anywhere on the list.

Our view

Likely to suit

Homes with dogs of different ages, as one tray covers puppy to senior
Dogs kept off grain
A named meat with a figure beside it
Dogs that tire of one dinner, with beef, chicken and turkey to move between
More moisture in the diet: three quarters of each tray is water

Worth watching

Salmon oil in all three, so none is fish free
Minerals as a single line, with no calcium figure for a growing puppy
A pack feeding table that does not add up for the tray size

All three Excellent. Typical wet food: Excellent.

An open label with a percentage on every ingredient lifts all three clear of the middle of a strong category.

Against the range

Meat: Chicken 60%; Beef with chicken, or turkey alone
Analysis: Protein 40.0% of dry matter; Identical across all three

The plainest label of the three; a dog that has reacted to something has probably met chicken already.

Three grain-free trays on one construction, each declaring 60% named meat: beef with chicken, chicken alone, or turkey alone. Dried potato, peas and carrot carry the little starch there is, declared both as dried and fresh weight, and salmon and sunflower oils are the only added fats.

The analysis is identical across the range: protein at 40.0% and fat at 28.0% of dry matter, with carbohydrate at an estimated 14.0%. A dog swapping between them is changing flavour, not diet.

Pricing & size

Price per kilo: £2.85 (RRP)
Pack: approx. 2.37 kg (not stated in the product name; this total weight is derived from Morrisons' own price-per-kg)
A 15kg dog eats (our estimate): 525 to 640 g a day, 585 in the middle
Cost per day, 15kg dog: £1.67

Roughly 585 grams a day for a 15kg adult; the pack's own table does not add up for a tray this size, so feed by weight and shape.

Budget end of the market for a wet food, and strong value for what is in the recipe.
