Jessica's K9 Kitchen
Jessica's K9 Kitchen Jessica's Stew: With Chicken, Pork, Beef & Lamb review
Flavour
A home kitchen recipe scaled up and gently prepared, sitting in our Excellent band. The meat is itemised down to the beef tongue and the lamb lung, which very few labels bother with. Three versions answer the questions owners actually ask: with chicken, without it, and without root vegetables.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs that do better without chicken, on two of the three
- Organ meat in the bowl, with beef liver and lamb lung at 5% each
- Dogs asked to avoid root vegetables, on the No Root Veg version
- Puppies and seniors, catered for by two recipes
- A portioned meal in the same 500g pack
Worth watching
- Beef, pork and lamb in all three, so no single-meat plan
- Seasonal vegetables that change through the year; even the No Root Veg label gives root vegetables as an example
- No calcium figure, though fresh bone at 10% supplies it. A large breed puppy is a reason to ring the kitchen first

The score, in context
- Pork 75.8
- With Pork 75.8
- With Chicken 73.7
All three Excellent. Typical fresh food: Outstanding.
Fresh is the strongest category we score, and a band just under its typical food still describes a genuinely good dinner, with the chicken version a whisker behind.

Named ingredients
Against the range
- Meat
- Chicken, pork, beef, lamb
- No chicken on the other two.
- Bone
- Chicken bone 10%
- Pork bone on the others.
- Meat detail
- Not itemised
- Five named cuts at 16% each elsewhere.
The four-meat version, a whisker behind its siblings and fine for a dog with no poultry trouble.
All three are built the same way: 60% fresh meat, 10% offal (beef liver and lamb lung at 5% each), 10% fresh bone and the balance in seasonal vegetables. Two itemise the meat as lean beef, beef heart, beef tongue, pork leg and pork tongue at 16% each, read as shares of the meat fraction.
What varies is chicken, which appears in one recipe only, and the bone, pork in two and chicken in the third. Moisture is 75%, so protein converts to 47.0% of dry matter. The energy figure is our estimate.
