Fleischeslust
Fleischeslust Sensitive Sausage: Lean Turkey review
A short-list sausage taken seriously: one animal at 75%, one starch, a named oil and the minerals. Duck, turkey, horse and lamb each get their own recipe, and none borrows from another species. All four reach our Excellent band, which makes the range a genuinely useful tool for an exclusion diet.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Exclusion diets. Every recipe holds to one named animal
- A list you can read in one go, with Pure Horse at eight entries
- Dogs that have reacted to poultry and beef, as horse is a protein almost none have met
- A temperamental gut, with one or two plant entries and a binder
- Rotating within one brand, four recipes on the same plan
Worth watching
- Pure Lamb is the lightest on protein at 9.3% as fed, and carries the most minerals
- Amaranth on the duck recipe, a seed and not a cereal
- An estimated energy figure on Lean Turkey, so treat its portion as a starting point

Named ingredients
Against the range
- Starch
- Sweet potato 8.4%
- Potato on the horse and lamb, apple and amaranth on the duck.
- Protein, dry matter
- 48.3%
- 37.3% on the lamb up to 51.6% on the horse.
- Carbohydrate, dry matter
- 17.9%
- Lowest of the four.
The least starch in the range, on a bird most dogs know.
Each recipe declares 75% of one animal, names the parts used and lets no second species onto the list. Even the added oil is named. A small starch sits behind the meat, potato starch binds it, and broth carries a percentage between 9% and 11%.
Eggshell meal and minerals do the calcium work, landing between 0.86% and 1.2% of dry matter. There is no botanical flourish and no supplement panel, which is the point when the aim is to find out what a dog tolerates.
