Briantos
Briantos Adult Grain-Free: Duck & Potato review
A grain-free range in our Good band where potato takes the place of Briantos's usual cereals. Each version gets a genuine 20% helping of its named dried protein, duck, lamb or salmon. Poultry protein and poultry fat still do a share of the work underneath, so grain free here does not mean single protein.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs that do better with no cereal at all
- Owners who want the named animal declared at a meaningful level
- Adults of almost any build, with feeding amounts from 1kg to 80kg
- Flavour fatigue. Only the lead protein changes between bags
Worth watching
- Dried poultry protein and poultry fat in all three, so no poultry-free elimination plan
- Fish oil in every version
- Cellulose on every list, bulk more than nourishment

All three Good. Typical dry food: Good.

Named ingredients
Against the range
- Poultry protein
- 10.5%
- 14% on the salmon, unquantified on the lamb.
- Sweet potato
- 6%
- 3% on the others.
- Carbohydrate, dry matter
- 46.1%
- 43.7% on the lamb.
The highest scorer of the three and the one to try first for a bored eater with no poultry issues.
Each version opens with 20% of its named protein in dried form, concentrated enough to count for far more than fresh meat would. Dried potato at 20%, potato starch and some sweet potato replace grain, and estimated carbohydrate of 43.7% to 46.1% of dry matter shows the type of starch changes, not the amount.
Underneath sit dried poultry protein and poultry fat in all three, then beet pulp, cellulose, peas, chicory, brewer's yeast and fish oil. Protein converts to 28.0% of dry matter on every bag, and moisture is declared at a relatively high 18%.
