Bentley's Superfood Blend: Buffalo review
A grain-free range of seven, every one in our Excellent band, from British free range chicken to Italian buffalo. Each bag puts a 65% animal headline up front, and estimated carbohydrate stays under the dry food norm throughout. The rotating superfood blends are a garnish; the meat is the reason to buy.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs that do their best without grain
- Owners who like a named and sourced meat, down to Scottish salmon and English duck
- Gut-sensitive dogs, with the prebiotic pair dosed on every bag
- Rotation feeding, since the supporting cast barely changes while the animal does
- A choice of bag sizes, from 2kg up to a 2 x 12kg option
Worth watching
- Not every variety is one species: the buffalo adds beef and lamb, and the turkey is backed by dried pork
- The omega 3 supplement never names its source, so no land recipe can be called strictly fish free
- Calcium runs high on the lamb and duck

Named ingredients
Against the range
- Meat
- Buffalo with dried beef and lamb
- Five of the seven keep to one animal.
- Carbohydrate
- 27.7% of dry matter
- Only the turkey is lower.
- Joint pack
- Printed and dosed
- Shared with the beef only.
One of the range's strongest, for a dog happy with all three red meats.
Every bag declares 65% animal content, built from a freshly prepared lead at 35% with dried meat behind it, plus fat and gravy or stock. The dried entries supply much of the finished protein, which runs from 27.5% declared in the lamb to 40.5% in the turkey. Sweet potato, beans and beet pulp are the plant base, and there is no cereal anywhere.
Each recipe carries a five-part dried superfood blend that changes with the species, FOS at 175 mg/kg and MOS at 50 mg/kg, and an omega 3 supplement with no source named. Only the beef and buffalo print a joint pack. Calcium varies widely between the seven.
