AniForte PureNature Adult – Country Chicken

Aniforte

AniForte PureNature Adult: Country Chicken review

76.2/100Excellent
WetPuppyAdult

Five Excellent cans built the way a butcher would build them: one animal, its cuts and organs named, then its own stock. Nothing on any label hides behind a category term. The recipes differ more in their starch than in their meat.

Our view

Likely to suit

  • Knowing exactly which animal, and which parts of it, are in the bowl
  • A puppy, an adult and an older dog fed from one cupboard
  • One-meat diets via Country Beef, beef and its own stock only
  • Dogs that tire of the same dinner, with beef through to venison
  • Heart, liver and tripe declared by name, never folded into a derivative

Worth watching

  • Fish meal supplies the omega-3 in the lamb and turkey; the other three name no source
  • Rice in Farms Lamb and Country Chicken, and wheat germ oil in Wild Forest
  • No added vitamin and mineral panel, so there are no doses to check

Joint highest with the beef.

The gut-friendly choice of the five, thanks to the chicory.

Every can is 60% of one named animal with the parts listed, then that animal's own stock at 25.2% to 28.3%. Protein converts to 40.0% to 48.0% of dry matter and fat to 24.8% to 31.4%, with the offal doing much of the micronutrient work.

The finishing touches repeat at around 0.1%: eggshell powder, calcified seaweed, a named oil, silica, an omega-3 addition and herbs. No can prints an added vitamin and mineral panel. What varies is the starch, from 2.5% of dry matter on the lamb to 24.0% on the beef and chicken.
