Alpha Spirit
Alpha Spirit Complete Wet Pouch: Turkey Pate review
Smooth pate pouches with about as short a list as wet food offers, all five in our Excellent band. Each is 95% of one named animal, with organs spelled out on three of them, and four further entries behind it. Chicken, turkey, ham, salmon and sea bream each get their own pouch.
Our view
Likely to suit
- Dogs on an elimination trial: each pouch keeps its meat to a single animal
- Dogs that struggle with texture, from age, dental trouble or plain fussiness
- Small dogs and toppers. The smallest pouch is a single 85 g serving
- Households with dogs at different stages, as the label covers puppies to seniors
- Dogs that need something unfamiliar, with sea bream and salmon beside the usual three
Worth watching
- Gelatin is not pinned to a species on any pouch
- Brewer's yeast is on every list, which matters for a dog that reacts to yeast

- Chicken is the only other poultry pouch
The pouch to reach for when poultry suits your dog but chicken does not.
Every pouch is 95% one named animal, then gelatin, pumpkin, brewer's yeast and a yucca extract (printed as cassava shidigera on the chicken and salmon). The chicken, turkey and ham labels split the meat further, naming liver, heart or lung behind 65% muscle meat or ham.
Protein converts to between 43.2% and 50.0% of dry matter on the four pouches we can convert, and fat between 25.0% and 36.4%. None declares moisture, and the ham leaves out ash too. The added panel is the same on all five.
