In detail

Chudleys: the closer look

The range

Sixteen products, twelve dry and four wet. Complete Wet Working Dog is the largest at four products, and Greyhound Trust Pet Greyhound holds two. The rest are single product ranges: Original, Classic, Senior, Salmon, Duck, Lamb Sensitive, Lite, Working Crunch, Grain Free and a puppy and junior food. Two products are flagged for large breeds.

Ingredients

Poultry leads on seven products and chicken on five, with salmon, duck and lamb behind them. Salmon oil and yucca are on most labels, with linseed and omega 3 alongside. Glucosamine runs through the joint-support recipes, twelve in all, and chondroitin goes into the wet food. One recipe is grain free and three are single protein.

Nutrition

The dry food runs from 19.0% protein as fed on Classic up to 28.0% on the puppy and junior food, with energy between 333 and 364 kcal per 100g. The wet sits at 9.0 to 10.0% protein and 98 to 103 kcal per 100g. Nutritional balance reads Outstanding on four products and Poor on six.

Strengths

  • Joint support on twelve products
  • Value reads Good on nine products
  • Wet and dry working recipes

Limitations

  • Nutritional balance reads Poor on six
  • One grain-free product on the list
  • One puppy label and one senior

Where it is less of a fit

  • If you want a puppy or senior food, check the life stages, as one product carries each
  • If nutritional balance is your first test, check the recipe you are buying, since six products read Poor
  • If you want grain-free food, check the flags here, as one product is grain free

Score overview

Value carries the Good band read, Good on nine products and Average on seven, and transparency is Good or better on twelve. Protein and processing is the softer read, Average on seven and Poor on five, as often happens with kibble. Nutritional balance splits the catalogue in two, and the Greyhound, Original, Classic and Lite recipes are among those reading Average overall.

The average score is the mean of each product's overall score out of 100 (using the best-scoring variety per product), not a flat average across every variety.

Figures are derived from current catalogue data for this brand's active foods, and the editorial read is ours. Scores are independent and never affected by commission. This is guidance, not veterinary advice. Last reviewed 9 September 2026.
