Buddy Grass Fed Lamb Sensitive review

Our Good band is where this recipe lands, on the same shelf the typical adult dry food occupies. The lift comes from a meat-led list with its dried share declared first, a carbohydrate load on the moderate side and a vitamin and mineral panel that is dosed all the way down.

Leading with dried lamb at 35% is the honest way round. Fresh meat is mostly water and shrinks in the oven, so a label that puts the pre-dried form first is declaring its protein where it actually ends up. Fresh lamb at 15% still earns its place for flavour, and the analysis reflects the structure. Protein converts to 28.9% of dry matter, with the carbohydrate estimate at 42.8% against the 46.2% typical for an adult dry food.

The binding is peas and sweet potato, with not a grain on the list anywhere. Dried apples and carrots bring a little fruit and vegetable interest along with soluble fibre.

The sensitive claim has real machinery behind it. Both established prebiotics carry a printed dose here, mannan-oligosaccharides at 0.015% alongside fructo-oligosaccharides at 0.012%, with dried kelp and Mojave yucca in support.

Two ingredients stop this being a lamb-only recipe: chicken fat, doing the energy work, and hydrolysed chicken liver at 2%, there to make the kibble irresistible. Add salmon oil and you have three animals on the label, which most dogs will never notice but an exclusion diet cannot ignore.

The joint pair of glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate is printed with its inclusions, a welcome habit, and the closing citrus, turmeric and rosemary extracts are seasoning at trace level rather than a health claim.
