Barking Heads
Barking Heads Adult Wet Food: Hair Necessities Salmon review
Four cans, one construction, all in our Excellent band. Each declares 85% named animal content and names the broth after the same animal, so the moisture arrives carrying flavour. Only the animal changes from can to can.

Our view
Likely to suit
- An owner who reads the can for its meat share
- Dogs kept off grain. Sweet potato and peas do the binding
- Rotating flavours without changing anything else in the bowl
- Adult dogs of any size, from toy breeds to giants
Worth watching
- Salmon oil in every recipe, so even the beef, chicken and lamb cans carry fish
- Several cans a day for a bigger dog fed wet alone; many owners serve these alongside a dry food

The one to pick for a dog that does better off land meats.
Every can is built the same way: 60% fresh meat or fish plus 25% broth from the same animal, which adds up to the 85% on the front. Sunflower oil and salmon oil go into all four, so every can carries a little fish. No grain appears anywhere; the binding comes from vegetables.
The vegetables change from can to can and stay in a supporting role. In dry matter, protein runs from 40.0% to 47.6% and carbohydrate from 6.7% to 22.0%. A herb tail in trace amounts closes every label.
