Poultry meat at 93% would be a vague claim on its own. The bracket underneath makes it a precise one: turkey at 52%, chicken at 41%. Those two add up to the headline, leaving no room for a third bird behind the category word, and protein converts to 48.2% of dry matter.

Turkey is the lead meat and an easy one for most dogs, gentle on digestion and naturally lower in fat than chicken. The rest is chicken, the meat the trade uses more than any other because dogs find it so palatable. That same popularity is why it tops the list of meats dogs stop tolerating.

The 5% vegetables and natural spices line is the only plant entry on the label. The quantity is small, which shows in an estimated carbohydrate of 4.4% of dry matter against 15.8% for the typical adult wet food.
