The poultry is declared the way we like to see it. Fresh turkey at 15% and fresh duck at 13% lead the list, with dried turkey at 12% and dried duck at 7% behind them. There is a lot of water in fresh meat, and it does not survive the oven. The dried entries therefore matter more in the finished kibble than their positions suggest, and between the four of them this stays a genuinely meat-led recipe.

Potato at 12% and sweet potato head the starch, backed by chickpeas and tapioca. No grain appears on the label at all. Carbohydrate works out at 45.1% of dry matter by our estimate, a shade under the 46.2% typical for adult dry food, so think of it as a moderate starch load rather than a low-carb recipe.

The joint pack is printed as exactly that: glucosamine and MSM at 177.5 mg/kg apiece, chondroitin sulphate at 125 mg/kg. A number on the label counts for more than a promise on the front. These are working inclusions, not a sprinkle.

The fats are named. Turkey fat at 6% carries flavour and energy, and salmon oil brings the omega 3s. The oil earns its keep, though it does put fish on a label that otherwise reads all bird. That is worth knowing if your dog stays away from fish. At 378 kcal per 100g the food runs a little denser than the typical adult dry food's 357, in keeping with the Endurance name, so portion honestly for a quieter dog.

The bag is listed for puppies, adults and seniors across every breed size, and for most households that is a genuine convenience. The one number to weigh is calcium, which converts to 1.85% of dry matter. That is comfortable for an adult but more than large-breed puppy guidance asks for, so a big pup is the one dog in the house to feed differently until fully grown.

The tail of the label runs from mixed herbs to yucca extract. All of it is garnish, sitting at trace level behind the minerals. The added vitamin and mineral panel is fully dosed in print, right down to selenium at 0.29 mg, which fits this label's general habit of showing you the numbers.

As a guide, feeding works out at around £1.11 a day for a 15kg adult dog in moderate condition, roughly 223 grams, assuming about 840 kcal a day (110 × bodyweight^0.75, the standard maintenance estimate). The label's own guide for a 15kg dog is 150 to 175 grams a day. Between the two, the waistline has the final say.
