Ingredients, as declared: Turkey 58%, sweet potato 5.5%, pumpkin 4%, linseed oil, green-lipped mussel 2%, fish oil, minerals, sunchoke, lucerne, dried blackberries, dried blueberries 0.1%, dried raspberries, dried blackcurrants 0.1%, dried cranberries, mannan-oligosaccharides (prebiotic MOS) 0.05%, fructo-oligosaccharides (prebiotic FOS) 0.05%, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) 0.05%, chondroitin sulphate 0.04%, glucosamine 0.04%.

Turkey is 58% of the tin and the only meat named on it. The only plant bulk worth mentioning is sweet potato at 5.5% with pumpkin at 4%, and with moisture declared at 80% the carbohydrate estimate falls to 0.7% as fed.

Green-lipped mussel is declared at 2% and sits high enough on the list to be a working ingredient rather than a garnish, with linseed oil in front of it and fish oil behind. The mussel and the oil between them put shellfish and fish in the tin. If your dog reacts to either, that is the thing to flag.

The dosed joint ingredients are declared in fractions of a percent: MSM at 0.05%, chondroitin sulphate at 0.04% and glucosamine at 0.04%. Mannan-oligosaccharides and fructo-oligosaccharides sit at 0.05% each, on the same scale. Figures that small are read against a food that is four fifths water, which is simply how a wet recipe declares its extras.

Dried blackberries, blueberries at 0.1%, raspberries, blackcurrants at 0.1% and cranberries make up the fruit tail. The added vitamin list is short, A, D3 and E with biotin, and the minerals run to zinc at 20mg, copper at 1.5mg and iodine at 0.75mg.

On a dry matter basis protein reads 50.0% and fat 30.0%, with fibre at 4.0%, ash at 12.5% and carbohydrate at 3.5%. Energy is 92 kcal per 100g and the guide asks for 650 to 1080 grams a day at 10 to 20kg. Those are large daily amounts of tinned food, and how much of it your dog should actually have is a question for the vet handling the joints.
